Occupational Therapy
At Growing Minds Therapy, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to participate confidently in the activities that matter most to them.
Occupational therapy supports children to develop the physical, sensory, emotional and cognitive skills needed to succeed at home, school and within their community. We take a warm, child-led and family-centred approach, using evidence-based strategies that are tailored to each child's individual strengths, interests and goals.
Whether your child is finding daily routines challenging, struggling with emotional regulation, experiencing sensory differences or having difficulty participating at school, we work alongside families to provide practical strategies that create meaningful, lasting change.

How we can help
Emotional Regulation
We help children understand their emotions and develop practical strategies to build resilience, manage challenges and participate confidently in everyday life.
Sensory Processing
We work with children and families to understand their sensory profile and develop practical strategies that support everyday participation, independence and emotional regulation.
Fine Motor Skills
We help children develop the hand skills needed for everyday tasks, including handwriting, using scissors, pencil control and other activities that support independence at home and school.
Daily Living Skills
We help children develop the everyday skills needed for greater independence, including dressing, toileting, feeding and completing daily routines with confidence.
School Participation
We help children develop the skills needed to participate confidently at school, supporting attention, organisation, learning and success in the classroom.
What sessions look like
Our therapy sessions are play-based, engaging and tailored to your child's unique strengths, interests and goals. Through meaningful, motivating activities, we help children develop the skills, confidence and independence needed to participate more fully in everyday life.
Depending on your child's needs, sessions may include movement activities, fine motor tasks, sensory-based experiences, emotional regulation strategies, self-care skills, executive functioning and play-based learning.
We believe parents and caregivers are an essential part of the therapy journey. While sessions provide opportunities to introduce and practise new skills, children make the greatest progress when these strategies are continued at home. That's why parent education and coaching are integrated into every stage of therapy, equipping families with practical strategies to confidently support their child's development in everyday routines.
By working collaboratively with families, educators and other professionals, we help children transfer the skills they learn in therapy into real-life situations, creating meaningful and lasting outcomes.
Our goal isn't for children to become dependent on therapy, it's to empower children and families with the skills, knowledge and confidence to thrive long after they leave our therapy room.
